Antica Athena Pharaoh Ceramic Planter
Antica Athena Pharaoh Ceramic Planter
This Egyptian inspired ceramic glazed planter by Antica Athena consists of a white Pharaoh’s face with gold plated detailing. The Pharaoh's face brings to mind the Egyptian revival of the Art Deco period; an era which came about due to the sheer amount of Egypt exhibitions throughout the 1960s and 1980s in Europe, a revival of egyptianism which we are reliving as of today with all the new excavations and findings in Egypt as well as their new mega museum.
Although this specific 1980s planter is a more minimal version than many of its earlier period, it still echoes the elaborate splendour of the Pharaohs with some humour having the plants bushing out from the top of his head. The death mask which dominates the face is decorated with 24k gold-plated striped details.
The planter is in very good used condition considering its 40 years of age with some light wear around the top rim, two chips which they will not be visible once you place a plant in it and some light out wear as seen on images.
