Woven near the city of Songhor in Iran, formally known as Persia, is a mountainous region at the heart of Kurdistan. The area surrounding this city is famous for its rug-producing villages, and the distinctive earthy tones and symmetrical handspun Turkish knots of the rugs are recognised throughout the world.
