The 2019 “Tondi" series is a study in the of manipulation of Polaroid films, resulting in a number of dreamlike landscapes in which the viewer can get pleasantly lost in the exercise of interpretation. The Tondi series is extremely versatile for interiors spaces.
After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence, Mauro Moriconi (b. 1980 in Lucca, Italy) furthered his artistic research in Lisbon before beginning a collaboration with Mimmo Rotella, from whom he learned the décollage technique, later used extensively in his works.
In 2007 Moriconi created his first photographic plate engraved on aluminum: this innovative technique marked a turning point for the artist, and became the key to his success, leading him to collaborate with art galleries in both NYC and LA.
In 2013 and 2017 he was selected for the International Fair of Photography in Milan Mia Fair, where his photographic series were critically well-received, catching the attention of the press.
